Perth Customer Service

clock service locksAny business that wants to be successful and long lasting will know that having a strong, caring customer service focus is absolutely essential.

So Perth customer service may sometimes appear to be …lacking.  But what makes for good customer service?

Here’s our thoughts…

Listening.  Hear what your customer wants rather than making assumptions.   Are they on a tight budget?  What are their main concerns?  Are they needing urgent work done?

Honesty.  Never sell or suggest anything that isn’t in the clients best interests.  We believe in treating people how we would want to be treated .  If we can suggest a way to save you money we will.   There are lots of businesses in Perth that seem to feel this way and it is very reassuring to see.

Fairness.  We charge a responsible price to be fair to our clients whilst providing a professional service.   After hours services are more expensive as our locksmiths need to be fairly compensated for getting out of bed on these 2C nights!

Interaction.  Our locksmiths are all security licensed, they have their names and uniforms clearly visible (as well as very clearly sign written vans!).  Our administration team (Sharon & Kate) answer calls and queries professionally and efficiently.  We know you don’t have time to waste!

Communication.  We are able to advise you on a time our locksmith is due to arrive, or we can call you half an hour before our locksmith will be there so you are not waiting around for us any longer than necessary.

Gratitude.  Ever walk into a shop and feel like you’re an inconvenience?  Not nice.  We know how fortunate we are to have such loyal clients and we are very grateful you continue to choose us.

Anything we’re missing?  Always feel free to let us know how we can improve, our client feedback forms are online on our website & also at the front counter of the shop,   These are given direct to the owners to follow up.

Thank you!

How to choose a locksmith in Perth

ml_logoIn the past 15 years that Advanced Lock and Key have been trading, we have seen many businesses start up (and quite a few close down).
There is a multitude of businesses to choose from. Here’s what we believe is worth checking out before you book in that job and trust your security to someone else.

So how do you choose a locksmith in Perth when there’s so many?

1.Are they a Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia member? Members hold recognised trade qualifications &/or have passed stringent and independently conducted trade competency tests.

The MLA also ensures the member:
•is a qualified and experienced security industry professional
•is licensed to operate as a locksmith under relevant State and Territory security industry legislation
•abides by an established code of ethics and code of conduct.

2.What guarantee does your locksmith offer to cover their products and workmanship?

3.Are they a solid, established business so if you need further work done or to make a query they will still be around? (research shows around half of Australian small businesses that start up are not running after 5 years

4.Is the locksmith you are having into your home or business security licenced; police cleared and trade qualified?

5.Do they only use top quality products and provide no obligation professional advice on your security needs?

Hopefully this gives some helpful tips to choosing your locksmith, (by the way we can answer yes to all the above!)

Emergency After Hours Locksmith – Common Problems

To gain some insight as to the nature of the jobs the emergency after hours locksmith was called out to this weekend, we have come up with a list of reasons people have needed our services.  Hopefully there are a few things people can do to avoid needing a locksmith.  Our emergency after hours locksmiths found the following reason to be the most common reasons for call outs:

  • To gain entry to a home or a vehicle. This will happen when your keys are accidentally locked in the house or car. It happens to the most careful of us.  Also if your keys are unfortunately stolen, you will need to gain entry before having a replacement cut.  The locksmith will change the lock so that the old key will no longer work.
  • To rekey a vehicle or a home. This happens most commonly not through theft of the keys but people losing them.  This is of course is very inconvenient for our clients as often the key may open several doors and all will need to be rekeyed for your security (else if someone finds the keys they can access your property).  It is essential to do this as often keys are stolen with other identifying information (such as in a handbag with a home address on a license etc).

These are by far the most common callouts our emergency after hours locksmiths receive each weekend. Emergency after hours locksmith Perth

Social Media for Business

Social media is another part of having a business that takes time, as the old saying goes, time is money. So is it worth it? Well…yes we believe so.  In Australia, there are around 8 million active Facebook users 18+.  Advertising can be targeted, so should only show to your target audience. The post we boosted last week reached over 23000 targeted people for very low cost.

Research has shown that peer recommendations for a business tend to be more trusted than businesses without that recommendation.  Clients that are happy with the service they have received will be happy to refer a business they’ve used to their friends and family.

Social media is also a great way of showing your businesses customer service skills, where there is a complaint (although it is shown publically) so will the resolution be shown. No business is perfect, but showing how your business handles these situations (with a return call; explanation or refund) we have found is a great way to quickly rectify a negative situation and build trust with potential or current clients.

Emergency Locksmith Perth

Anyone who has lost or broken their keys & therefore been locked out of their property or vehicle, can identify with the inconvenience not to mention sense of panic this causes. Unfortunately it happens to even the most careful of us.

From the first day we started Advanced Lock & Key back in 1999, we have provided a 24/7 emergency locksmith service. Our police licensed locksmiths now work on a rotating roster to ensure there is always someone available to take your call and assist our clients as quickly as possible.

Don’t be alarmed if the locksmith gains entry to your property in a matter of moments, it is not a sign that your property is not secure, it’s simply that they have had extensive training and experience (and sometimes they are also just lucky!)

If we are unable to assist you quickly, we will recommend a nearby locksmith for you to contact. Helping people is the core driving force in all our locksmiths and you can trust us to assist & advise you.

Fee Structure

We are sometimes asked why we don’t provide a charges list on the website. The reason we like to speak with our clients is that we find often people aren’t sure of their needs, they may believe their locks need replacing, when actually they only need re-keying etc. Also there may be double locks, rather than single locks, which will alter the cost.

We will provide a costing to our clients as accurately as possible over the phone, based on the information we are provided with. Occasionally we ask clients to send through a photo of the issue on their phone or by email, to identify a lock or safe type.

Our after hours service is charged at a higher rate than during the day, the reason for this is we must pay our locksmiths at a premium rate – I’m sure you’ll agree getting out of bed on a cold, wet night at 3am to work is not the same as going out at 11am to a job. We will quote you prior to attending so you can make an informed decision. If there are any queries please ask your emergency after hours locksmith by calling our usual number 94094440, the phone call will divert automatically to our rostered emergency after hours

Our Beautiful City

A great idea I was reading about was telling people to spend a day being a tourist in your own city.

So much changes in a short time in the city and surrounds, that unless you are out and about for your job (like our mobile locksmiths) you don’t get to see what’s happening.

Here are some links with great ideas of things to see and do in Perth, whether you have overseas or interstate visitors or just want to see what’s new in Perth.
